Sibenik

Sibenik is the economic, cultural and educational center of the county. City of Sibenik consists of 31 villages, as part of the county are counted four more cities (Knin, Drniš, Skradin and guides) and 15 municipalities(Primosten, Rogoznica, Tisno, Murter-Kornati, Pirovac, Kistanje and others).

City of Sibenik has excellent transport links and as such is the center of many industrial and agricultural activities. With the development of industries in Sibenik tourism is continuously evolving and it is increasingly the first choice for holidays. The Mediterranean climate and favorable conditions provide more frequent arrival of tourists who rent apartments, and opt for the purchase of real estate or land.


Sights

The main attractions of Sibenik is famous St. Jacob's cathedral which in 2000 was included in the UNESCO list of world cultural heritage, and next to it there are the Town Hall, the Rector's Palace, religious buildings such as monasteries and churches, castles St. John and Šubicevac, Sibenik city walls and others.


Interests

Sibenik is known as a city of sport, and with many athletes has given one of the greatest Croatian and world basketball players - Drazen Petrovic. In addition to sports, Sibenik is a city of music and so traditionally organises International Children's Festival, the Festival of Dalmatian chanson and summer music festival Terraneo.
