HvarHvar island is situated in Split Dalmatia region and it is placed in central Dalmatia. Its name comes from Greek (Pharos) and the islandis divided in two parts, Hvar and Stari Grad, and two townships Jelsa and Sucuraj.

Hvarska fortress is situated on mountain above the town of Hvar, constructed during the ruling of Venice, providing a spectacular panoramic view. Besides various fortresses and monuments of antique town Faros, Hvar is characterized ny sacred buildings such as St Stephen's cathedral, St Francis convent and church of St John.
