Brac

Brac is the largest Dalmatian island and the third largest island in the Adriatic Sea.

It is characterized by all of the characteristics of the Mediterranean climate, and is called the sunniest island since it has 2700 hours of sunshine per year, which is very attractive if you want to buy a home or rent an apartment for a vacation.

The island of Brac is divided into a number of cities and municipalities, with numerous villages, like Supetar, Bol municipality, the municipality Milna, Nerezisce municipality, municipality Postira and municipality Pucisca, Selca municipality and district Sutivan. Except in the extreme east of the island, where stokavian dialect is spoken- on the island you can hear all versions of cakavian dialects.

Sights

On the south shore of the island is located the Desert Blace, Glagolitic desert residence that has great historical and monumental value together with a Renaissance chapel and interesting cultural remains. Brac is also interesting for its many religious buildings, such as churches that were built in the island.

Interests

One of the interesting things that reminds us of the best of Brac is the use of Brac stone (marble) that was used for the construction of famous buildings such as Diocletian's Palace in Split and, according to some theories, the WhiteHouse in the United States. Another less known feature is that Brac island has the biggest number of libraries so that the account is that has five books per every person.
